See how she brings the Harlem Renaissance to life while staying in.

The past few months have felt like a lifetime of staring at the same four walls. While we may be stuck inside for the foreseeable future, now is the perfect time to transform your space into a place where you can feel inspired! You don't need to complete a full blown re-model to transform a room into your own personal sanctuary. A simple addition to your space can make all the difference.

Teri Johnson, founder of Harlem Candle Co became obsessed with fragrances at an early age. She loves the idea that one single aroma can transport you through time and place. When Teri creates a scent, she doesn't just throw things together, she dives deep into the moment and space she is trying to recreate.

Upon moving to New York City where she made Harlem her home, Teri discovered the vibrant history of the Harlem Renaissance, and the lively characters that once graced the streets around her. Inspired to share their stories, Teri began making luxury candles that told the story of legends from the Harlem Renaissance.

Picture Josephine Baker the infamous jazz performer, sitting in her boudoir curling up with a cup of jasmine tea and honey, preparing her voice to perform. The scent of rose floating through the air as she collects the flowers thrown on stage after each performance. Through candles, you are able to perfectly capture a moment in time.
