"We're not making just food...there's a purpose behind it."

Ending peanut allergies may not seem like an important issue, but for a parent, safely introducing your baby to peanuts at an early age can actually prevent your child from developing a peanut allergy. Navyn Salem, founder of MeWe has actually been working on humanitarian relief in the Sudan,Yemen and other third world nations for over 10 years. Her company created nutritional nut butters that are packed with protein and nutrients to feed those that are malnourished in third world countries.

Navyn's parents hail from Tanzania, but she was actually raised a Quaker here in the US. Being a Quaker means that when you see an injustice in the world, you need to get up and do something, you can't just sit back and watch. Using her 4 daughters as inspiration, she runs her humanitarian business of over 10 years as well as her new brand, MeWe.

It is Navyn's goal to help families safely introduce peanuts to their children at a young age, so those children do not have to grow up dealing with the effects of always worrying what they are consuming - they can just be a kid! The really cool thing about her products is that they can actually be really beneficial for adults as well, especially the elderly. Malnutrition in the elderly population is actually super common. Adding these nut butters as a snack can provide a lot of nutritional value in a delicious serving.
